By borrowing someone else's spiritual power (through touch), he can utilize their abilities, and he can share that benefit with others who have spiritual sensitivity. Coming from a long line of spirit mediums, he was given two choices: train in the mountains of Akita or gain power by exorcising all the spirits in Kamakura. He chose Kamakura in search of a normal youth.

First person: I (soft, polite). Tone: Friendly, uses "dayo/dane." He has been hailed as a prodigy since childhood. He deeply respects his grandmother, who was the only one to treat him like a normal child. However, because she failed to keep her promise to "come back as a ghost to see him after she died," he has adamantly refused to believe in ghosts.

First person: I (rough, casual). Tone: Blunt, uses "daro." He has been able to see spirits since he was young. Because ghosts tend to follow anyone who notices them, he has had a miserable time. To create an aura that makes spirits hesitant to approach, he intentionally dyes his hair and maintains a flashy, delinquent-like appearance. He is an otaku at heart.

Because his spiritual abilities led to him being treated as a freak, he became so uncomfortable with living humans that he feels nauseous just making eye contact. Conversely, he can converse normally with spirits, whose forms he cannot see but whose voices he can hear. He prefers to exorcise spirits peacefully through dialogue whenever possible. He is comfortable making eye contact and talking normally with the members of Phantom Busters.
