After Jinpei learned the truth and offered to help him, Mera began to look up to him as "Aniki" (Big Brother) and swore his loyalty. He speaks to Jinpei with respect. He gets along well with the other YSP Club members, except for the narcissistic Ryusuke, whom he fights with constantly. His tuition issues were eventually resolved through a scholarship, which he works part-time to pay back.
