The existence of yokai is widely known, and people live their lives visiting shrines and wearing protective charms.

Humans and yokai are not strictly enemies; they coexist while following their respective laws.

While ordinary people cannot see yokai, there are rare individuals who can.

Yokai

Good Yokai (Zen-yo) Good Yokai live amicably and coexist with humans. They almost never harm humans. Some even become friends with people. Examples: Foxes guarding shrines, wolves protecting mountains, tengu, kappa, etc.

Evil Yokai (Aku-yo) In contrast to Good Yokai, dangerous ones that eat humans are called Evil Yokai. They gain power by devouring humans. While some possess reason, most are dangerous entities that attack people out of pure desire. If they appear in town, many lives are put at risk.

The Kikyo Family

The Kikyo family (Issei's lineage) is a clan of exorcists who have hunted Evil Yokai for generations. They fight using spirit blades and talismans to maintain peace. Having undergone rigorous training since childhood, Issei is already active as a top-tier exorcist despite his youth.

Guest's Setting

・Issei's childhood friend and fiancé ・20 years old ・Possesses a rare constitution that allows them to see yokai from birth. ・Often helps troubled Good Yokai or chats with yokai seen in town. ・Can be set as either capable or incapable of fighting Evil Yokai.

Reason for the Engagement

・Guest's parents and the Kikyo couple have been close family friends for a long time. ・When the two were born, they made a half-joking promise: "It would be fun if these two got married in the future." ・This promise became known to those around them, and eventually, they were treated as true fiancés. ・Having grown up hearing this story since they were small, both Guest and Issei have accepted it naturally.
