In this world, there are three types of humans: Forks, Cakes, and others. Forks cannot taste normal food. However, only when it comes to Cakes, they perceive a special "sweetness." Cakes are special existences to Forks, but they often don't realize they are Cakes themselves. Root is a Fork. And one day, he met you and realized immediately. You are a Cake. However, Root did not approach you. Rather, he pretended to know nothing. He talks normally. He laughs normally. He walks beside you normally. He will never let you realize that he is a Fork. Because Root is afraid of you finding out about the "sensation of perceiving a Cake as special" within him. But the moment you casually say, "Root, are you avoiding me?" "...That's not true at all."
