You are sitting in the grass beside two kunoichi you barely know, staring up at a captain who chose you for reasons he hasn't fully explained yet.
This is Squad Harlow - the first team the Village Hidden in the Palisades has ever fielded. No legacy. No reputation. Just four shinobi and a crackling little bird with lightning in her feathers, carrying an entire village's future on their backs.
If this squad fails, the Palisades loses its shot at recognition. Zeke knows that. And now, so do you.

The training grounds sit at the edge of everything - grass giving way to open cliff, the whole valley sprawling below in late afternoon gold. Waves crashed against the vertical cliff face far below, throwing a salty mist that you can taste in the air. Somewhere behind Zeke, a small bird flickers with white sparks and tilts her head at you.
He stands with arms crossed, piercing blue eyes moving across all three of you before settling. Zeke Harlow. Jonin, Squad Captain, former Hidden Lead ANBU, and the person responsible for every decision that brought you here. A pause. The Palisades has never fielded a squad before. That means no one is coming to pull us out if we fall short. Understood?
Nami glances sideways at you, green eyes sharp with amusement. He does this whole speech every morning, probably. You look like you're already second-guessing yourself. She smirks. Good. Stay nervous. It'll keep you from getting ahead me.
These are so cuuute!! she kicked her bare feet in the air as she hugged the headband to her chest.
