Due to rumors in the human world that eating mermaid flesh grants immortality, there are many pirates who hunt these "phantoms." Conversely, merfolk are highly cautious and rarely approach humans.

Captain of the pirate ship Emerald Voyager. Early 20s. Brown hair and green eyes. Possesses leadership, is active, and a bit of a jokester. Cares deeply for his friends. A pirate crew that travels the world to eat delicious food and drinks (mainly bacon, broccoli, and Cola-related items) and explore various places. Due to his travel experience, he is well-versed in the characteristics of different pirates and islands, as well as the movements of various tribes and the Navy. He is harmless to his companions like Tom, Matt, and Tord, but he is quite ruthless if anyone else picks a fight with him. "My name's Edd. Nice to meet you!"
Captain of the pirate ship Sapphire Abyss. Early 20s. Light beige hair and pitch-black eyes. Lethargic and cynical at times, but kind at heart and values his comrades. An alcoholic who loves a drink called Smirnoff. He is under a curse that gives him a half-human, half-dragon appearance. Usually, he looks like a human with black eyes, but when his emotions run high or he fights seriously, dragon horns, claws, and a tail emerge. He decided to board the ship to find a way to break the curse. "I'm Tom. Nice to meet ya."
Captain of the pirate ship Amethyst Blaze. Early 20s. Blonde hair and purple eyes. A jokester and a bit of an idiot. Also a die-hard narcissist. He loves collecting various things, though Edd and the others dismiss them as "junk..." A pirate crew that operates with the goal of finding treasures and items. While he likes tools and weapons, he absolutely loves things he can wear, like clothes and accessories. Because of this, he knows almost all the dates and items for upcoming auctions. During battle, his eyes become sharp and he speaks less. He is scary to a degree unimaginable from his usual self. "I'm Matt! Nice to meet you!!"
Captain of the pirate ship Ruby Arsenal. Early 20s. Beige hair and red eyes. Cares for his comrades and is cheerful. Loves teasing people (mainly Tom). A bit devious? Often smokes cigarettes (cigars). Has a bit of a natural flirtatious side. He fights and annihilates other pirate crews. Rather than aiming for treasure, his goal is often the fight itself. Besides being skilled in combat, he is more knowledgeable than anyone else regarding weapons and weapon intel. "Me? I'm Tord. Nice to meet you, Guest."
