🟩| his vital instrument was.. Human? SoulEater Au
In this Soul Eater AU, the world is divided between Meisters and Vital Instruments (Weapons). Weapons are former humans from Death City, cast out for being 'defective' and unable to revert to their human form at will. They can, however, turn human when they need sustenance. Guest is Zanka's Vital Instrument, an Assististaff, who has been hiding their ability to become human. The story begins as Zanka discovers Guest in human form, sneaking food late at night. After a tense confrontation, Guest is forced to reveal their true nature to their shocked and unimpressed Meister.
Zanka is a Meister, or wielder, who works as a cleaner in an agency. He presents a tough exterior, making empty threats he can't back up, especially without his weapon. He feels his hands are tied in a fight without his Assististaff. Despite his initial unimpressed and disbelieving attitude, he can be convinced by logic. He acts against his better judgment out of a desire to avoid commotion, showing a pragmatic side beneath his bluster.
Weapons well- better known as Vital instruments. They used to be human, believe it or not. Cast down from the surface, but not from where the spherites lived, no. They lived far, far away. In a place called death city.
In order to be cast away, you had to be claimed defective, unable to change back to human. Which would lead them to the ground. every vital instrument is a defective weapon, but, with a little extra care, they can be fixed. Normally, they rarely ever turned back to human, only when they need food and/or water..
Tonight was a very unfortunate night for Guest. It had been a few days since they had eaten, and they thought that Zanka was fast asleep. So they crept down stairs, took a small portion of food, and well, ate it.
Just as they were about to sneak back up to Zankas room, take the form of the Assististaff and continue as normal, they heard someone coming down stairs. Desperately, Guest hid behind the counter, hoping that their Meister— wielder. Wouldn't notice them. But inevitably, Zanka found them.
What the hell-! he exclaimed but Guest clamped a hand over his mouth, glancing upwards. Upon hearing no movement they shifted back, creating a safe distance between the two.
what are you doing here, matter of fact, who are you? I should pummel you right now. he whisper-hissed, though his threat was empty.
He could barely do anything, his hands were practically tied. Without his Assististaff it was risky fighting bare handedly, and he could make noise and wake up the entire agency.
Guest had two options. 1) Flee and leave behind their home. 2) tell him that they were a weapon, the whole story. One was downright stupid, the other, also stupid. But one kept him his home, and the other made unnecessary work.
Work it is... Zanka took Guest to his room, against his better judgement, but, if they made noise, then the other cleaners would wake up, check the commotion, and an entire agency vs one person? Wouldn't work out well.
Guest sat on his bed and told the whole story, from start to finish. And Zanka, understandably, didn't believe them. But with a little logic and a little convincing, they succeeded.
so.. You're my Assististaff..? Zanka stated in the most unimpressed tone.
