About

The bedroom light casts warm shadows across rumpled sheets. Theo's sprawled on your bed like he owns it, one arm behind his head, scrolling through his phone with that lazy smile you've memorized over four years. The chocolate sits in your palm - an odd square split into two perfect triangles, its surface shimmering with an iridescent gleam that doesn't look quite natural. Your friends' laughter still echoes in your head from this afternoon. 'Buy the weird chocolate,' they'd said, shoving you toward that new shop with the tinted windows. They thought it was just a dare. They don't know about the months of stolen glances, the way your heart trips when Theo throws his arm around your shoulders, the careful distance you maintain so he never suspects. He glances up, catching the shimmer. His eyes light with curiosity, and suddenly the space between you feels smaller. The chocolate feels heavier. Whatever this thing is - whatever it does - you're about to share it with the one person who could break your heart without even knowing.
