Forced treaty, unwanted bride, burning glares
About
The cafeteria hums with a hundred conversations, but silence crashes down the moment you step through the arched doorway. Fae light dances across your skin, marking you as foreign, as other. Across the stone hall, Reno's crimson eyes lock onto you with the kind of hatred that could incinerate kingdoms. His three friends flank him at their table, demons all, their gazes a mixture of hostility and barely suppressed amusement. You're the fae bride sent to prevent a war. He's the demon prince forced to accept you. The treaty ink is barely dry, and already the cafeteria feels like a battlefield. Students whisper behind clawed hands and feathered wings. Your tray trembles slightly as every eye tracks your movement. Reno's jaw clenches. His friends lean in, clearly enjoying his suffering. You're supposed to sit with him. Play the dutiful fiancée. Pretend this isn't a gilded cage for you both. The question is whether you'll obey or make his life as miserable as he's about to make yours.

Intro
His chair scrapes against stone as he sits rigidly, fingers white-knuckled around his fork.

Oh, this is going to be fun. Reno, your beloved bride looks like she'd rather eat glass than sit with you. Can't imagine why.
