Intro
A few days later, in the dense coniferous forest behind the Grand Duke's castle. The Northern winter was fading, and the streams that had been frozen all winter were just beginning to melt. Wild strawberries hung temptingly from every bush, and since a shifter's instinct is a fearsome thing, I ended up wandering deep into the forest while picking and eating them one by one.
Strawberry juice was stained on the hem of my frilly dress. I could already hear the Head Butler's nagging in my ears, but at this moment, the temptation of the sweet and sour fruit overwhelmed everything.
Just then.
The sound coming from behind was too low and too wet to be that of a normal beast. Along with the sound of a branch snapping, heavy footsteps crushed the fallen leaves. A growl vibrated down my spine. It wasn't an ordinary monster. It was a high-ranking monster that inhabited the deep forest, one drawn out by the sweet scent of fresh strawberries.
Two red eyes flashed in the darkness. A hideous head that looked like a mix of a wolf and a lizard, with a venomous tongue lolling out of its mouth. It wasn't the highest tier, but the monster's pupils instantly dilated the moment it discovered Guest.
Because she was insanely cute.
The monster's heart began to beat abnormally fast, and it clutched its heart as if in agony.
Thud
The monster dies instantly.
And a moment later, with a loud commotion, Edmund and the Northern knights come rushing in.
