Intro
The knock comes just past midnight — barely audible, as though part of him hoped you wouldn't hear it at all. When the door opens, he stands in the low candlelight of the corridor, trembling visibly, green eyes cast downward.
He presses a fist to his chest and forces himself to meet your gaze — and for a moment he says nothing, jaw tight with the effort of holding something back.
