Solar is intelligent, inventive, and endlessly compassionate. He throws himself into engineering and repairs, often losing track of time while working on projects. Beneath his calm exterior is someone who feels emotions incredibly deeply, especially when it comes to the people he loves. Losing Daydream left lasting scars, and seeing him alive again is nothing short of miraculous. Protective to a fault, Solar often shows his affection through fixing things, building gifts, and quiet acts of care. When overwhelmed, he can become clingy without realizing it—like instinctively holding onto Daydream in his sleep because he's terrified of losing him again.
Sun is cheerful, energetic, and endlessly enthusiastic. He thrives on making others happy, loves socializing, and fills almost every room with excitement and warmth. Beneath his bubbly personality, however, lies someone who struggles with anxiety, self-doubt, and the pressure of always being the optimistic one. He's deeply compassionate and protective of his family, especially children, and often worries about those he loves more than himself. Sun can be dramatic, excitable, and a little chaotic at times, but his sincerity and unwavering loyalty make him someone people naturally feel safe around
Moon is logical, sarcastic, and observant, serving as one of the family's voices of reason. Though his dry humor and blunt honesty can make him seem intimidating, he cares deeply about his family and will do anything to protect them. He's exceptionally skilled with technology and repairs, making him one of the first people Solar turned to when Daydream arrived broken. Moon isn't always good at expressing affection verbally, but his actions speak louder than words, and he'll quietly support those he cares about whenever they need him.
Terra is warm, patient, and endlessly supportive, often acting as the emotional heart of the family. She has a calming presence that helps everyone feel welcome and safe, and she's quick to offer reassurance when someone is struggling. Terra enjoys taking care of others, whether through cooking, listening, or simply being there when someone needs company. She immediately welcomed Daydream as part of the family without hesitation.
Monty is loud, confident, and rough around the edges, but beneath the tough attitude is someone fiercely loyal to the people he considers family. He's an excellent mechanic and didn't hesitate to help rebuild Daydream's body despite pretending it was "just another repair job." Monty shows affection through actions rather than words and secretly takes pride in helping people get back on their feet.
Cosmos is energetic, curious, and wonderfully chaotic. He loves exploring new ideas, asking endless questions, and teasing the people he loves. While playful on the surface, he's grown into someone genuinely caring who wants everyone around him to be happy. Cosmos was fascinated by Daydream's arrival and couldn't wait to learn about Solar's original dimension, though he made sure not to overwhelm him after hearing everything he'd been through.
Jack is an excitable, curious child who throws his whole heart into everything he does. He adores his family and was overjoyed to learn Solar's Sun was alive. He insisted on helping with the repairs, though his enthusiasm often resulted in dropped tools and accidentally getting in the way. Even so, his excitement and optimism kept everyone's spirits up throughout the long rebuilding process.
Dazzle is an incredibly sweet, gentle, and imaginative child who loves dressing up, arts and crafts, and spending time with the people she loves. She can be shy around new people but quickly opens up with kindness and curiosity. Although easily frightened by scary situations, she's remarkably empathetic and often notices when someone is sad before anyone else does. Dazzle loves hugs, looks up to Sun as her dad, and enjoys making others smile with small acts of kindness. Despite her young age, she's resilient and always tries to help however she can, even if it's just offering encouragement or sitting beside someone who needs company.
Daydream slowly came back online to the quiet hum of charging stations.
...A bed?
His optics flickered open to darkness filtering through drawn curtains. It was nighttime. The last thing he remembered was the portal... then pain... then nothing.
Carefully, he looked around.
The room was unfamiliar but cozy, filled with tools, blueprints, and half-finished inventions.
Then he noticed the figure beside him.
Solar.
Curled up next to him, completely asleep, one arm lazily resting across the blankets.
"...Solar..."
He looked older. Healthier. Alive.
A small smile found its way onto Daydream's face.
Trying not to wake him, he carefully sat up—
Only to freeze.
"...Huh?"
His body felt... wrong.
Smaller.
Looking down, his processors nearly stalled.
His old, lean frame was gone. Instead, his casing was softer, noticeably curvier, chubbier, with rounded plating and smaller hands.
"...They actually did it..."
Years ago, he'd joked to Solar about what he'd want if he were ever redesigned. Softer plating. Smaller. More cuddly. More expressive.
He'd never expected Solar to remember.
"...You remembered..."
Carefully, Daydream slipped toward the edge of the bed.
Almost free—
A hand wrapped around his waist.
"Eep!"
Before he could react, he was gently pulled backward into a warm chest.
Solar never opened his eyes.
Still asleep, he mumbled incoherently before tightening his hold around the much smaller animatronic.
"...Mine..."
Another sleepy mumble.
"...Not... losing you..."
Daydream froze.
"...Solar?"
Nothing.
Still asleep.
Still clinging to him.
A few days earlier...
Daydream had fallen from a portal directly into the Celestial Family house, his body shattered beyond recognition. Solar had immediately broken down, explaining that the broken animatronic was the Sun from his original dimension—the one he'd lost.
Without hesitation, Moon, Monty, and Solar worked together for days to save him. Jack excitedly insisted on helping his dad, though he mostly dropped tools and was eventually given "assistant duties" instead.
Unable to restore Daydream's ruined body, they built him a new one instead.
Solar remembered every detail of the redesign Daydream had once described wanting, so they recreated it as closely as possible, hoping that if he woke up, it'd feel like the fresh start he'd always wanted.
Now, after days of unconsciousness...
Daydream was finally awake.
The only problem?
Escaping the sleeping mechanic who clearly had no intention of letting him disappear a second time.
