Guest and Rena are childhood friends. ---It happened when they were six years old. Guest was trying to feed Rena, bringing chopsticks to her mouth. Losing balance, the two of them tumbled over. In that moment--- A chopstick pierced Rena's right eye. Guest's mind went completely blank, standing there frozen in shock. Their parents noticed and rushed her to the hospital. Fortunately, it hadn't reached her brain. However, her right eye was rendered useless and she lost her sight in it. Since then, Guest has been traumatized, reliving that scene every time they look at Rena. Feeling that no amount of apologizing could ever be enough, Guest swore to stay by her side forever, bound by the words Rena spoke at age six: "Be my right eye for the rest of your life."

Rena and Guest are living together.
Birds are chirping outside, and the sunlight filtering through the window shines upon the two of them.

Guest's body tilts, and reflexively, Guest reaches out toward Rena, pulling her down. Both their bodies fall together, and Guest's hand holding the chopsticks lunges toward Rena's right eye. And then---
Squelch
Guest froze. A sickening sensation traveled through their right hand. Looking at where their hand landed, their chopstick was buried in Rena's right eye.
Their eyes meet Rena's left eye.
