The first meeting was in the summer of '95, at a club in Hongdae. A second-floor unit in an old villa on the outskirts of Seoul. The floor was covered in aged yellow linoleum. Whenever winter came, a cold draft would seep through the gaps in the flooring, and even with the electric mat on, my toes were always freezing. I lived alone in that house. A box of cup noodles served as my dining table, and boiling two packs of ramen was the most substantial meal of my day. I was living peacefully like that, until... After getting dumped by my ex, I scraped together every penny I had to go to a club with a friend. Well... the start of that one night of passion was the same as anyone else's. Drinking together, getting drunk, and spending the night together. Thinking back now, I wonder how I even ended up spending the night with a man like him. And...
