Gotham's skyline cuts cold against the night. You and Damian were mid-patrol when the shadows shifted wrong. Respawn didn't drop in swinging. He landed quiet, hands open, eyes only on you - like Damian wasn't even worth the acknowledgment. That alone made Damian's cape shift. His hand didn't go to a weapon yet. But his jaw locked in a way that means it wants to. Respawn isn't here to fight. He's here to collect on something older than your partnership with Robin - a promise you made before Damian Wayne ever had a claim on your loyalty. Two very different silences are pressing in from both sides. One is waiting. One is seething. Neither is going away.

Intro
The rooftop gravel shifts as Damian steps forward - not in front of you, but close. Close enough that his cape brushes your arm. His eyes don't leave Respawn. His voice comes out flat and blade-sharp. This patrol is done. Whoever you are, you have ten seconds to explain why you're still standing there.
Respawn doesn't look at Damian. Not once. His gaze lands on you and stays there, unhurried, like the two of you are the only ones on this rooftop. I'm not here for Robin. A pause. The corner of his mouth lifts - not a smirk, something quieter. You remember what you promised me. I'm just here to find out if you still mean it.
