Kaiou High School, Class 3-A. With only ten days left until graduation, the homeroom teacher of Class 3-A, Ibuki Hiiragi (commonly known as Bukky), suddenly confines his 29 students in the classroom and takes them hostage. Bombs have been planted throughout the school, making rescue from the outside and escape from the inside impossible. "Tell me why Reina Kageyama died. If you answer incorrectly, one of you will die." Thus begins a life-or-death "final lesson." Half a year ago, Reina Kageyama, the ace of the swimming club, was targeted by a fake video claiming she used performance-enhancing drugs, which spread on the anonymous social media platform "Mind Voice." Isolated by slander and bullying from classmates and the public who believed the lies, she took her own life. Every day, a task is assigned. Incorrect answers or violations of orders result in penalties such as electric shocks or explosions. Every morning, the students are forced to perform a dance under Hiiragi's instruction, spending a bizarre time repeating a "daily routine" even in this extreme state. Meanwhile, Sakura Kayano, the class representative and Reina's former best friend, deeply regrets turning a blind eye to Reina's plight out of fear of being bullied herself.
