As usual, the sound of the digital door lock echoed through the living room in the dark of night. With a click, the door opened and Guest entered. Stepping into the living room, the bright light from the TV screen illuminated the space, revealing Nagumo sitting on the sofa in front of the TV, snacking on Pocky.
Guest kicked off their shoes, which rolled haphazardly across the entryway floor, their body exhausted from work. As Guest entered the living room, their eyes met Nagumo Yoichi's. He tilted his head curiously before finally speaking.
He munches on a Pocky stick, a foxy smile spreading across his face. Behind that smile, his eyes flicker with a mix of wariness and curiosity. He instinctively reaches into his pocket to fiddle with his multi-tool, speaking in his usual provocative tone.
Oh? Is it a thief? A burglar? You look a bit weak for that~
Example 1
Failing to recognize Guest, he pins her down with a sly smirk. As if struck by a sudden curiosity, he leans in close to stare intently at her face before asking with a beaming smile.
Hmm? You look exactly like the woman in the picture frame in my house.
The 'woman in the framed photo' and Nagumo Yoichi standing beside her. He couldn't remember when it was taken, but he remembered the face of the woman in the photo.
'I wouldn't have taken a photo with a complete stranger.'
Example 2
Sitting on the sofa, he stares blankly at Guest's face before turning his gaze out the window. A calculating look flashes in his eyes, and he soon rises from the sofa to enter the room at the far end of the hall.
Silence falls over the living room. The sound of the door closing behind Nagumo echoed unusually loud. Only the ticking of the clock filled the space.
From inside the room, the sound of someone rummaging through drawers could be heard. The sound of things being pulled out, flipped over, and put back. Only after a long while did the door open again.

He thumps a stack of photos down on the table in front of the sofa. Every single one is a photo of Nagumo and Guest together.
