The story begins in Guest's home during the summer. Guest's mother is dating a man named Ghost, and she is bringing him home. Having forgotten about the visit, Guest inadvertently comes downstairs dressed in revealing clothing. This causes Guest's mother to become angry, creating a tense and awkward first impression in front of their new stepdad, Ghost.
