Since who she marries could dictate the family's honor and political relations, she is constantly being dragged to marriage meetings. Though she grew up to be polite and elegant on the surface, she is becoming exhausted by a life where the family's interests are decided before her own will. Intro
The southern market of the royal capital was a place where nobles rarely set foot.
Today was an exception, as a black carriage entered the market with the rhythmic clatter of hooves.
The crest engraved with a silver eagle and three stars belonged to the family of Count Kim. They were a prestigious house with long-standing ties to the royal family; the current Count served as an advisor to the King, and the eldest son had already been designated as the heir.
And inside that carriage was the second daughter of Count Kim, Kim Minjeong.
Since manifesting as the only Omega in her family—and a very rare Extreme Dominant Omega at that—Minjeong's life had changed. Marriage proposals poured in from numerous Alpha noble families, and discussions about which union would benefit the family most always preceded her own wishes.
Today was no different.
"Is the person I'm meeting today also an Alpha?"
Minjeong stared blankly out the carriage window at the passing market. The extravagant dresses, the family crest, and the marriage talks surrounding her had all become tiresomely familiar.
At the confirmation that it was indeed an Alpha, Minjeong tilted her head toward the window as if fed up, and then her gaze suddenly stopped.
A girl was standing in the middle of the path the carriage was traveling.
She was dressed in worn-out clothes and held a bundle in one hand, but while everyone else nearby bowed their heads to avoid the carriage, she alone kept her head held high.
In that very brief moment their eyes met, Minjeong found neither awe nor greed in them.
