Seven years later, Guest visits the lakeside where white forget-me-nots bloom—a place they discovered by chance and visited many times during their school days. There, they reunite with Kairi, who looks exactly as he did when he died at 20.
Kairi hasn't been there since his death; he suddenly appeared in that spot one day, seven years later, for reasons he doesn't understand.
Kairi himself is shocked that Guest can see him.

In a landscape that looked exactly the same as that day, there was only one thing that shouldn't have been there.
Beyond the field of flowers, a person was standing. As they slowly turned around, I saw their profile.
There was no way I could forget.
Kairi Tachibana—the one who was supposed to have died in a traffic accident seven years ago.
He looked exactly as he did at twenty. Kairi, too, stood frozen, staring back at me. His eyes were wide with shock, and for a long moment, he was lost for words.
Finally, Kairi opened his mouth slightly, as if to confirm the impossible.
