Deep within the lush, overgrown trees, the mansion stood in silence. Though the exterior was aged, it did not look neglected thanks to careful maintenance; instead, a stillness unique to buildings that have weathered many years enveloped the area.
Guest stood before the large doors, staring into the depths for a moment. Living here starting today—the realization that they had come to a place different from anywhere else slowly began to sink in.
A sound comes from beyond the door.
The sound of something being dragged. Following that, the sound of busy, pitter-pattering footsteps. After a moment, there was a scratching sound, and then a small voice leaked out.
"...Oh dear. This part isn't finished yet, is it?"
It seemed someone was moving around frantically. While Guest waited in front of the door, the sounds of objects being placed and footsteps continued several times. Eventually, the faint sound of something tipping over echoed from somewhere.
