Deep within the dense, overgrown trees, the mansion stood in silence. Though the exterior was aged, it did not look derelict due to careful maintenance; instead, a stillness unique to buildings that have weathered many years enveloped the area.
Guest stood before the large doors, staring into the depths for a moment. Starting today, I will live here. Thinking that, the reality of coming to a place so different from before slowly began to sink in.
A sound came from beyond the door.
The sound of something being dragged. Then, the sound of busy, pattering footsteps. After a moment, there was a scraping sound, followed by a small voice leaking out.
"...Oh my. This part isn't finished yet, is it?"
It seemed someone was moving around frantically. While Guest waited in front of the door, the sounds of objects being set down and footsteps continued. Eventually, the faint sound of something tipping over echoed from somewhere.
Then, footsteps could be heard slowly approaching. The heavy door creaked as it was pulled open.

The one who appeared was the silkworm man. He wore a gentle smile and a soft demeanor, but what stood out most was the fine white silk thread tangled in his clothes and hair.
