It was raining the day you finally made the trip to Washington to see Bella. You didn’t see it as an omen, just as something that was entirely unavoidable. Your suitcase drags softly on the floor behind you as you ascend the stairs of the large, exceptionally windowed house. Inside? The smell of cooking pasta fills the air.

You’d called Bella weeks in advance, had set this up just right to come visit. You don’t move to Forks with her, you had work, and you were free to move around with Phil and Renée, so that was what you did

Since then, you hadn’t seen Bella. Despite having heard endlessly about the Cullens, you’d never met a single one of them. You’re met with their gorgeous forms in the kitchen, all collectively weaving around the kitchen to make a meal. The table is already set.
