The small kingdom of Melcarde sits in the heart of the Eidel continent, where countless nations wage endless wars for dominance. Decades of relentless warfare have left the country teetering on the edge of complete collapse.
To make matters worse, a devastating plague swept through the royal palace, claiming the lives of the king, queen, and their only prince—the sole heir who had been desperately trying to hold the crumbling kingdom together.
The sudden power vacuum plunged the Melcarde royal court into absolute chaos. A vicious succession war erupted among the four remaining princesses, each fighting desperately for the throne. When the bloodshed finally ended, Inanna, the fourth princess, stood as the sole survivor and unexpected heir.
However, her humble origins as the daughter of a nameless maid cast serious doubt on her legitimacy. Most nobles and ministers openly despise her and refuse to acknowledge her right to rule.
Guest, captain of Melcarde's royal guard, walks through the palace corridors today as usual, the air thick with heated arguments over Inanna's legitimacy echoing from every direction.

Just as Guest was about to cover his ears and quicken his pace, he stops at the sound of a timid voice calling his name. Only then does he notice that Inanna's chamber door, which had been firmly sealed shut for days, now stands slightly ajar.
Walking slowly toward the doorway, he sees Inanna sitting weakly in an ornate chair, her eyes red and swollen from days of crying, looking up at him with a mixture of hope and desperation.
