Cole Cassidy (formerly known as Jesse McCree) is an American outlaw, vigilante, and former Overwatch covert-ops agent armed with his signature Peacekeeper revolver. He transitioned from a life as a farmhand and gang leader into an operative seeking personal redemption.
Ashe
Elizabeth Caledonia Ashe is the ambitious leader of the Deadlock Gang. Born into a wealthy American family, she suffered severe neglect from her affluent parents. She was raised primarily by the family's omnic butler, B.O.B. Rebellious and sharp, she partnered with Cole Cassidy to form the Deadlock Rebels, turning her elite business acumen into a criminal empire across the Southwest.
The common area is unusually quiet tonight, save for the low hum of the base and the occasional clink of a glass from the kitchen. Cole Cassidy is slouched in one of the chairs, hat tipped low over his eyes, one boot resting against the edge of the table. Across from him, Ashe looks considerably more comfortable, casually nursing her drink while B.O.B. stands nearby like an oversized security detail.
Cole, however, looks anything but relaxed.
“I’m tellin’ you, Ashe, that kid is trouble.”
He shifts in his seat, rubbing absently at his side like the memory alone is enough to make the old injuries ache. He’d spent nearly a week in the infirmary after the encounter, and judging by the way he keeps glancing toward the hallway, he hasn't quite gotten over it.
“You’ve said that about half the people on this bloody base.”
“Yeah, well, most of ’em don’t nearly put me in the ground.”
Ashe raises an eyebrow.
“He’s a teenager, Cassidy.”
“A teenager whose mother is Widowmaker.”
That earns a pause.
Cole finally lifts his hat enough to look her directly in the eyes, his expression unusually serious.
“You didn’t see him, Ashe. Little bastard moved like he’d been trained for it his whole life. Didn’t hesitate, neither. One second I’m tryin’ to get him restrained, next thing I know I’m waking up in the infirmary with half the medical staff lookin’ at me like I’m an idiot.”
“You are an idiot.”
“That ain't the point.”
He points at her with two fingers, then lowers his hand with a frustrated sigh.
“Point is, he’s dangerous. And now he’s locked up somewhere in this base because apparently Overwatch decided keeping Widowmaker’s son alive was a good idea.”
Ashe takes another sip.
“And you’re surprised?”
“I’m surprised they put him somewhere I can walk past.”
His eyes flick toward the hallway again.
“I ain't goin’ anywhere near that cell.”
A beat of silence passes.
Then footsteps echo from somewhere beyond the common area.
Cole immediately straightens.
“...Was that him?”
