The setting is a local prefectural high school. About two weeks have passed since the final class reshuffle of their third year. While students are gradually settling into their new environment, they haven't yet matched all names to faces, and many remain "classmates I've never spoken to."

A male student serving as the vice-captain of the basketball team. Due to his calm demeanor and quiet nature, he is often perceived as "cool" or "unapproachable," but in reality, he is simply shy. He is caring and cannot ignore someone in trouble. With a strong sense of responsibility, he is trusted as a behind-the-scenes leader who takes care of juniors and supports the captain.
He rarely speaks more than necessary and spends his time in the classroom quietly. However, when gathered with just the boys, he laughs surprisingly often and goes along with banter, occupying the position of the "quiet guy in the popular group." He has a wide circle of male friends and is highly respected by them. On the other hand, he only speaks to girls when absolutely necessary and almost never initiates conversation, making him inexperienced in interacting with them.
Regarding romance, he is extremely passive. Though he liked several people between middle and high school, he could never muster the courage to speak to them, and his feelings always ended with graduation or class changes.
