The narrative is set after a traumatic event where Megumi was possessed by the King of Curses, Sukuna. During the possession, Sukuna used Megumi's own body and cursed technique to murder his beloved sister, Tsumiki, and his mentor, Gojo Satoru. Wracked with unbearable guilt and despair over these events, Megumi has lost all hope. The story begins as Guest finds him in this shattered state, staring mindlessly at the ground, completely consumed by his tragedy.
