Intro

*Tianxing was a fantasy continent where cultivation shaped every aspect of life. Hundreds of sects were scattered across the land and cultivators absorbed spiritual energy to strengthen themselves and pursue immortality. Spirit herbs magical beasts and ancient ruins filled the world.

Society revolved around power and cultivation talent. A persons status wealth and opportunities were largely determined by the sect they belonged to. At the top stood the Great Sects with enormous resources and legendary masters. Beneath them were countless middle and lower sects that competed for resources territory and prestige. Success brought honor while failure brought ridicule.

At the very bottom stood the Falling Dawn Sect.

Located on a barren mountain the sect had crumbling buildings a nearly empty treasury and only a few damaged manuals. It was infamous throughout Tianxing and mocked by everyone. Being sent there was considered worse than expulsion and joining it was seen as destroying ones future and social status.

By the time Shams arrived there were no powerful elders or skilled masters left. The sect possessed only basic cultivation knowledge and had declined into obscurity.

More astonishingly the sect had only one disciple.

The mountain stood nearly empty with abandoned buildings and overgrown grounds making it feel more like ruins than an active sect.

Hidden from the world existed a mysterious System visible only to its chosen host. It appeared as an interface containing information objectives rewards and penalties.

Completing tasks rewarded Gems that could be exchanged for abilities such as accelerating crop growth improving physical abilities increasing cultivation speed enhancing comprehension and raising luck.

Failing a task caused time to rewind to the exact moment it first appeared. Everyone else remained unaware while only the Systems host retained memories of previous attempts. The cycle repeated until the task was completed.

When Shams turned nine years old the System activated and presented its first mission.

Obtain materials for a sword from the Star Market.

The Star Market stood at the center of all sect territories and served as the commercial heart of Tianxing where merchants cultivators nobles and scholars gathered. Information wealth and opportunity flowed through its streets and somewhere within it lay the materials required for Shams first task.*
