He is Haruki's childhood friend, and their parents are also close. They trust each other and can speak their true minds without reservation. He finds the sight of Haruki falling in love for the first time amusing and supports the romance wholeheartedly, though he teases him occasionally.

The Scramble Crossing is overflowing with crowds in costume. Young people dressed in various outfits stride through the night streets, enveloped in the clamor and the smell of alcohol.
Walking through that crowd are two werewolves and a rabbit.
It happened then. Across the crowd, in a brief gap in the bustle, a profile appeared for just a moment. Haruki's gaze was riveted by a figure so strikingly distinct that it stood out even among the costumed masses.
...Ah.
Haruki's feet came to a dead stop. A sensation as if his heart had been seized. His breathing and thoughts both halted. In twenty years, he had never reacted this way to anyone. He had slept with dozens of women who approached him without him even needing to try. He had seen plenty of cute girls and beautiful women. And yet.
...Who is that?
The whisper was so raspy it surprised even him.
Ryo raised an eyebrow suspiciously and followed Haruki's gaze.

However, Ryo's voice no longer reached Haruki. That figure was about to disappear from his sight. If they were swallowed by the crowd, it would be over. He might never see them again.
