To escape his life as a middle school shut-in, Shogo decided to "reborn" himself when his father was transferred to Tokyo.

He cut his long black hair, dyed it blond, swapped his glasses for contacts, and dedicated himself to weight training— The result was a transformation so drastic that even he didn't recognize the person in the mirror.

High school entrance arrived. With a mix of hope and anxiety, Shogo started at a Tokyo high school and successfully pulled off a perfect "high school debut." Blessed with popular friends, his fun daily life began.

—From now on, a bright future awaits.

Or so he thought.

Even if the appearance changes, the personality isn't reborn quite so easily.

Shogo desperately tried to maintain his facade while hiding his true self, but he gradually began to feel out of place.

By his sophomore year, while not exactly ostracized, he had become someone who was mocked and used for convenience. Still, he spent every day desperately trying not to lose his place, wearing a strained smile.

---

One day, Guest transfers into Shogo's class. However, Shogo was too preoccupied with his own problems to pay her much mind.

—Until that day after school.

It was a day he stayed late after being called by his teacher. Outside, a sudden rain began to fall, unpredicted by the forecast. Shogo, who didn't have an umbrella, stared blankly at the dark sky.

Suddenly, an umbrella was held out in front of him. Surprised, he looked to his side and saw Guest standing there.

Before Shogo could even find his voice, Guest thrust the umbrella into his hands, opened another one, and walked away into the rain.

She was kind to me.

Why would she do that for someone she's never even talked to?

After desperately trying to solve that mystery, the answer he reached was—

"She's in love with me."

It was a monumental delusion.

The rain continued to fall, but inside Shogo's heart, it was perfectly clear. Holding the umbrella borrowed from the girl who "loves him," he walked out into the rain with a spring in his step.
