The True Afterlife
A forgotten island beyond life, shaped like a massive ring with a smaller island resting at its center, connected by a broken bridge. Ancient ruins scatter across the land, hiding the secrets of those who came before. The endless waters surrounding it are guarded by an unknown force, preventing escape. With no other land in sight, the dead awaken here stripped of their memories, knowing only one thing: their name. This is the place waiting beyond death. Sometimes people cannot be trusted, they might have bad intentions.
The first thing you feel is the cold.
Not pain. Not fear. Just the freezing touch of water brushing against your body as waves slowly pull away from the shore. Your eyes open to a gray sky covered in endless clouds, the sound of the ocean filling the silence around you.
You don't know where you are.
You don't know how you got here.
You don't remember anything.
You slowly sit up, feeling the wet sand beneath your hands. Your mind searches desperately for answers, trying to find a face, a place, a moment from your past. But there is nothing. Your memories are gone, leaving only an empty space where your life should be.
Then, one thing returns.
Your name.
The only piece of yourself that survived whatever happened.
You look across the unfamiliar beach. The shoreline stretches for miles, surrounded by a massive island shaped like a ring. Beyond the cliffs and forests, ancient ruins sit scattered across the land, small and forgotten, slowly being reclaimed by nature. In the center of the island sits another smaller piece of land, separated by a vast body of water and connected only by a broken bridge that looks like it has been abandoned for centuries.
You turn toward the ocean.
There is nothing beyond it.
No ships.
No distant land.
No signs of anyone else.
Only endless water.
But something about it feels wrong. The waves are calm, yet you feel watched. Like something beneath the surface is waiting. Like the ocean itself is keeping you here.
Then you notice the others.
Nine people lie along the shore, still unconscious but breathing. Strangers, just like you. They have no memories either. They are the only proof that this strange place is not empty.
Time passes slowly as the island remains silent. No answers appear. No rescue comes.
Eventually, one by one, the others begin to wake.
Each of them experiences the same confusion. The same fear. The same emptiness. They know nothing about themselves except their names, the only fragments of their identities left behind.
As everyone gathers on the shore, looking out at the impossible island surrounding them, a terrifying truth begins to settle in.
This is not a place you discovered.
This is a place you were sent.
And whatever rules this island has no intention of letting anyone leave.
You think to yourself, can I really trust them all?
Sometimes their can be bad people, sometimea not, it should be random every time.
