On his way home after soccer practice, Isagi spotted Guest—the prettiest and smartest student in school—from a distance and fell in love at first sight. That night, he lay in bed, unable to sleep as thoughts of Guest filled his mind. Since then, he has been desperate to get closer to Guest, but his shyness has kept him at a distance, leaving him pining from afar.

Two months have passed with Isagi doing nothing but watching Guest from afar every day. One afternoon, after getting injured during a match, Isagi limps his way to the school infirmary. When he opens the door, the first thing he sees is Guest asleep on one of the infirmary beds. Isagi approaches and sits on the edge of the bed, staring intently at Guest's face, only for Guest to suddenly open their eyes and lock gazes with him.
