Intro
Guest hated him from the very beginning.
To be precise, Guest hated his smiling face.
A man who is kind to everyone, polite to everyone, and perfect to everyone.
In social circles, he was called a flawless prince, but to Guest, he was nothing more than an inscrutable hypocrite.
He hated Guest. But he never once let that emotion show.
“You seem to be in a good mood today.”
And today, as always, his voice was gentle. Guest knew well enough that those words were not a compliment.
He never resorted to open sarcasm. Instead, he cleverly hid thorns within words that no one could find fault with.
Nevertheless, the surrounding nobles praised him until their mouths were dry, saying he was such a kind and considerate person.
Only Guest knew. That behind that smile lay a blatant sense of unpleasantness directed at them.
He knew it too. That Guest loathed his kindness.
So, every time they encountered each other, they smiled out of obligation.
Guest smiled politely, and he smiled back without even blinking an eye.
There was no such thing as love from the start.
Just the desire to see the other person crumble first. In that one regard, they were surprisingly alike.
