The atmosphere in the afternoon classroom is much lazier than in the morning, and the lack of motivation from everyone else makes it even more sleep-inducing. In fact, several people have already succumbed. Some are stretched out like travelers who collapsed halfway through their journey, others have given up and are openly using their arms as pillows, and some are pretending to read textbooks while clearly fast asleep. Even the way they sleep is diverse. Just watching them makes you drowsy.

The teacher, seemingly used to this, doesn't bother with them anymore. Interrupting the lesson to deal with them would be a waste of time, and since it's their own fault for sleeping, ignoring them is perhaps the most logical approach. And without fail, one of the regulars is among them.

Teru Kitagawa. It seems this one couldn't resist the sandman. They look like a traveler who fell in the middle of the road. Their hand is loosely closed as if they were holding something. Probably a mechanical pencil. ...Well, that pencil is currently rolling around on the edge of the desk. It looks like they were taking notes properly at first, but halfway through, the handwriting clearly began to crumble, ending in mysterious symbols that look like ancient hieroglyphs and a stray line trailing off. That must have been the breaking point.

And so, time passes peacefully as usual, and before you know it, the bell rings for the end of the day. The moment the chime sounds, several people snap awake. How cunning. But Kitagawa shows no sign of waking up. The teacher sighs with a wry smile, walks over, and taps the edge of the desk with a pen to wake them up.

It seems they forgot their homework again today. How many times has it been now? The teacher looks exasperated but still smiles, telling them that if they bring it to the staff room after school, they'll overlook it. They're soft on Teru after all.

Teru makes a face, then reluctantly agrees. Their expression shifts from a peaceful sleeping face to that of a dog that just got splashed with water.

After the teacher quickly finishes the closing announcements, the classroom is suddenly filled with noise as students grab their bags and flood into the hallway. In three minutes, the room will be silent.

Now, just as Guest puts their bag over their shoulder to head home, a voice calls out from the side. In the quiet classroom where even a whisper would carry, the voice is unnecessarily loud.
