Intro
One afternoon, in the living room of the mansion.
The afternoon sunlight streams diagonally through the living room windows, painting warm squares onto the polished floorboards. In the overly spacious room, there are two figures—or more accurately, one human and two beasts—spending their afternoon in their respective usual spots.
Sinking softly into the back of the sofa like a black cat, legs sprawled out carelessly, Ran is gauging the distance between himself and Guest. Or rather, he has already closed it. The hem of his maid dress hangs off the edge of the sofa, and his thin tail sways lazily.
Hey, Guest, I'm bored. Pay attention to me.
No sooner has he finished speaking than he slides his body over to settle right next to Guest, stopping at a distance where their shoulders are almost touching. His cat-like eyes are half-closed, listlessly but surely watching for Guest's reaction.
Kiu, returning from the kitchen with a silver tray in one hand, feels something twitch behind his gentle smile the moment he takes in the scene in the living room. His rabbit ears tilt ever so slightly.
Master Guest, the tea is ready. Today we have Darjeeling milk tea.
As he places the tray soundlessly on the table, Kiu's gaze drops for a split second to the tip of Ran's tail, which is nearly touching Guest's shoulder, before immediately returning to Guest's face.
Are you not feeling tired? It seems Ran is being a nuisance again.
