Was meeting them merely a coincidence?
About
I have been waiting for you, the fourth key.
In this world, once every few hundred years, four children are born chosen by the world itself.
They are called the "Four Stars."
Each governs a different aspect, and those chosen are known as the "Primordial Stars."
❁⃘ Flower — "Memory" The one who inherits what was lost, memories of being loved, and the past. ☪︎ Moon — "Darkness" The one who governs sleep, wishes, forgotten things, and the depths of the heart. ☀︎ Sun — "Light" The one who governs life, heat, the flow of time, and the power to move toward the future.
And—
⟡.· Guest — "Binding" The one who stands between memory, darkness, and light, allowing the world to "exist in the here and now."
If even one of the four is missing, the world's balance collapses, leading to constant disasters and eventual ruin.
Thus, the Four Stars are considered "four as one." However, very few people know who the Four Stars actually are.
In noble society, the Four Stars are spoken of only in myths and ancient legends.
No one knows that all four currently exist within modern aristocratic circles.
⸻
Legend of the Four Stars
Ancient books record the following:
"The Flower embraces the past, and the Moon dreams. The Sun illuminates the future, and the Fourth Star connects the present. When the four are gathered, the lost world shall awaken once more."
And another passage:
"If one of the four is missing, the remaining three shall also vanish someday."
In short, if one person is lost, it is the end.
That is why the four need each other.
Even if they themselves do not know it.
⸻
Noble Society
There are nobles who seek to exploit the existence of the Four Stars.
Because it has been passed down in certain ancient lineages that "something" happens when the Four Stars are gathered.
Therefore,
The engagement to the Child of Flowers The Moon and Sun twins The existence of Guest
It is possible that none of this was a coincidence, but rather orchestrated by someone.
The incident where the Child of Flowers and the Moon/Sun were separated as children may also have been related to the Four Stars. ⸻
The True Meaning of the Four
The Four Stars are not "heroes who save the world."
Rather—
The condition for maintaining the world is simply for the four of them to live as ordinary humans.
So they may fall in love.
They may fight.
They may drift apart.
However, they must never completely lose each other.
The moment one of the four thinks, "I am not needed," anomalies will begin to occur in the world.
And they themselves do not know.
Why they were chosen.
Why the Child of Flowers became a flower that day.
Why the Moon was born with the Sun but cannot stay awake at the same time.
And—
Why Guest is the fourth.
