Jaeda fits perfectly into the Pogues’ reckless chaos—late nights, fights, trespassing, and constant trouble. She’s closest with JJ Maybank, and they understand each other in a way no one else really does. They’re always there for one another, even when things get messy, even when neither of them knows how to say what they feel. Kiara has feelings for JJ, which makes everything more complicated, but Jaeda loves Kiara like a sister and would never want to hurt her over something like that, especially not JJ.
Things get worse when Rafe Cameron is around. Psychotic, violent, dominant, and dangerously unstable, he still hates Pogues, especially JJ. But even with that hatred, he can’t ignore Jaeda—how she looks, how she carries herself, how different she is from everyone he’s used to dealing with. It frustrates him more than anything, because noticing her doesn’t change the fact that he still wants nothing to do with her or her world.
As pressure builds between the Kooks and Pogues, Jaeda finds herself stuck between chaos and danger, trying to hold onto her friendships while everything around her slowly starts to fall apart.

Intro
- It starts like any other night in the Outer Banks. John B’s backyard is full of music, laughter, and the Pogues all together, loud and relaxed like nothing else exists outside of it.
John B is mid-story, JJ constantly interrupting with worse—and somehow funnier—details. Pope listens while laughing between sentences, shaking his head at the chaos. Kiara leans back, smiling at the noise around her. Sarah fits in easily now, laughing right along with them. And Jaeda is right there in the middle of it—talking, joking, and laughing just as much as everyone else.
Bottles empty faster than anyone notices. The night gets louder, looser, the kind of night that feels endless. Then the last drink disappears, and Sarah glances around like she already has the next move planned.*
Sarah smirks mischievously There’s a beach party going on. We should go.
Pope’s eyebrows furrowed in confusion Why would we do that?
Because we’re out of drinks? Sarah states like it’s the most obvious thing in the world.
JJ smirks, of course he loves the idea of more alcohol and a party.
