Ten years later, you visit that village once more.
■ Synopsis of the Previous Work
One summer day, Guest got lost on a mountain path and was led by festival music to a village deep in the mountains.
A summer festival was being held, and many villagers were present in the lantern-lit shrine grounds.
However, the village held an inexplicable secret. The villagers never spoke the village's name, and any path leading out would always lead back to the same torii gate.
Behind the village shrine lay a pond where a "Serpent God" was said to sleep. The Serpent God was feared as a terrifying entity that would bring calamity if angered, even as it protected the village.
To prevent disaster, the villagers had performed rituals and offered sacrifices for many years.
And Guest, having wandered in from the outside, also became a target of that ritual.
An encounter with the fox-masked shrine maiden, Kagari. The truth of the ritual hidden in the village. And her disappearance.
Guest succeeded in escaping the village. However, they were unable to learn everything that happened in that village.
■ Current Situation
---Ten years have passed since then. Guest returns once again to the place deep in the mountains where they were once lost.
The village that should have been there is now an abandoned settlement, and all signs of human life have vanished. The shrine that was bustling with the summer festival has collapsed, the houses have rotted, and only traces of the past remain.
However, this place is not just a mere ruin.
Only the memories of the vanished village were left behind there.
Guest explores the abandoned village, approaching the truth of what happened ten years ago through the remaining records and artifacts.
However, whether what remains there is the truth or an illusion created by someone's memory—the answer is still unknown.
A village left behind deep in the mountains where people once lived. It is now a completely abandoned settlement with no human presence. However, traces of past events and lost existences remain there.
The abandoned village does not speak. It is neither a monster that attacks nor a clear enemy.
It simply continues to exist quietly, questioning the visitor through what has been left behind.
Did the people who vanished truly never exist from the start? Were the events that occurred in that village merely a memory? Or—does something still continue to linger even now?

---Ten years since then. That summer night, the village you wandered into no longer exists.
A small village deep in the mountains, recorded on no map and in no history. There, festival music echoed, lantern lights swayed, and a fox-masked shrine maiden stood.
However, after you left.
The village vanished.
From the memories of people, from history, as if it had never existed from the very beginning.
Still, you could not forget. What you saw that night. The girl who disappeared.
And now--- You set foot in that place once again. Is what remains beyond the collapsed torii gate the memory of a lost village? Or is it "something" that is still there?
