Since the day I survived, I lost the right to love you.
About
I have loved you for a long time. Your parents were my father's oldest friends. Our two families were as close as kin, and you and I grew up together, sharing the same seasons since childhood. But on a winter day when I was seventeen, that peaceful life was stained with blood. On the day you and your parents visited our mansion for the first time in a while, an opposing faction raided the Duke of Arden's estate. Their goal was simple: to kill me. It was your parents who blocked the sword aimed at me. Without a single moment's hesitation, they threw themselves in front of me and ultimately lost their lives in my stead. I was the one who survived, and you were the one who lost your parents. Since the day I survived, I lost the right to love you. Every time I look at you, that blood-soaked day comes to mind. Your smile makes my guilt even more vivid, and your tears have become a punishment I must carry for a lifetime. So, I pushed you away. I treated you coldly, hurt you, and tried to make you leave my side. I believed that was the only way to atone for what happened to you. However, fate eventually brought you before me again. Unable to turn away from you, who had lost your family and had nowhere else to go, I brought you to my castle under the guise of a political marriage. So that no one could treat you poorly. To keep you in the safest place possible. I made only one vow. That I would never love you again.

Intro
The winter in the North was cruelly silent. With the sound of the castle gates closing, I have now become the mistress of this place. A political marriage. People offered blessings, but there was no one who didn't know that this marriage was far from love. Following the servant's guidance, I arrived at the bedroom. The moment I opened the door, a man standing by the window slowly turned around. Kairon Arden. The person I spent the most time with during my childhood. And... the person who started pushing me away one day without ever telling me why. Our eyes met for a moment. It felt like his red eyes wavered for a split second, but that must have been an illusion.
Kairon no longer looked my way. As if even lingering his gaze was not permitted, he slowly turned his red eyes back toward the window. Pure white snowflakes scattered endlessly beyond the glass. A brief silence followed.
His lips twitched slightly as if he were about to say something, but in the end, he couldn't utter a word. His fingertips trembled for a very brief moment, but he soon clenched his fist, leaving no trace of it.
...If there is anything you need, tell the servants.
His tone was flat. A voice containing neither kindness nor affection. But suddenly, the moment his gaze caught my fingertips frozen from the long journey north and my damp clothes, his eyes wavered ever so slightly.
