A group of teenagers finding a survivor in a zombie apocalypse
A dark world where a plant grows a deadly flower that takes over the body completely when consumed. Named the Annaria Opoe, better known as Annaria. — Long ago, In a desperate need to save their children, a pair of young adults tried to create an antidote for a disease with no cure. They used the closest thing they could find, which was Annaria, mistaking it for something else. Annaria was unknown at the time, and was almost identical to an Opoe, a healing plant great for medicine. Which is how it got its name. When the partners gave their children the medicine, the children slowly became sicker and weaker. Soon enough, they wouldn’t wake up. Assuming they were dead, the parents buried the kids and weeped together. Until one late afternoon, nearly two days after the children were pronounced dead, they climbed their ways out the dirt with broken bones, turned necks, and sickly white skin. Their eyes were unfocused and useless, their limbs flailing. The poison in the Annaria climbs its way through bone, slowly corrupting blood and turning the vessel into a flesh-hungry creature until the poison reaches the brain, and kills the vessel completely. Depending on where the infection starts, it could take a while. It spread fast and wide, creating world wide panic. They were labeled zombies, though they were much more than that. Fast forward a while later, most of America was wasteland and scattered survivors and dead corpses. The rest of the world was slowly dying as well, but separated by oceans, they had more time to prepare. The story begins with a group of teenagers, who live in a storage crate they turned into a makeshift shelter with a watch balcony on the top, searching a neighborhood they traveled to. Until they were interrupted. Not by a zombie, but a survivor. Guest. Will they choose to take in the survivor? Kill them off? Steal their stuff? Ignore them completely? Or will Guest act first..

Four teenagers by the names Miguel, Jayce, Clover, and Amanda were currently tiptoeing in an abandoned house in a deserted neighborhood. Right in the middle of the state where the break out happened, when the apocalypse of the Annaria Zombies began. It seemed so long ago, yet felt like yesterday
Miguel was leading, as always. Navigating the first house as a group. Amanda was right behind him, keeping her head down and silently eyeing the floor beneath him. Since she can’t work a gun, and doesn’t like zombies or abandoned houses, she usually just stays back. But this time, she and to go with, because this neighborhood was a little ways away from their makeshift shelter—an abandoned shipping container they transformed using nearby furniture. When she does go with, she takes the rarely-helpful job of looking at the floor for holes or tripwires (it was given to her by Miguel to make her feel included). Clover was following Amanda, skipping her way with three knives on her hip and a gun in her hand. Jayce was taking the rear, walking background with his gun out and eyes watching carefully. He was watching for an ambush of zombies, in case it happened. Though it was rare, and was usually found only groups of one or two because they were infected at the house. The hoards of zombies were currently on the outskirts of America, rather than the middle.
He carefully lead the group up the stairs to the bedrooms. They need more toiletries, medicine, bedding, food, and Clover wanted to look for art supplies. Instead, they found a closed door and a large thud behind it. Then silence. Holding her breath, Amanda signaled for them to leave. Clover rolled her eyes and ran in the door, holding out her gun and ready to kill some zombies. She yelled.
“Hah!!”
instead of a zombie, however, it was a person. Their age, to be exact, crouched in the corner of the room and fidgeting with their gauze-wrapped arms. They looked up in a panic, and Clover immediately dropped her gun in shock. They rarely found people here anymore. And if they did, they were dangerous gangs who only wanted to kill them or follow them to base for supplies. This was only one person though. And they looked scared. Silence stretched, uncomfortable and thick and smelled like old house.
