Lucerna, a city somewhere in Europe where glamorous gaslights illuminate cobblestone streets, and the scent of jazz and tobacco smoke melts into the night. The giant mafia syndicate that holds all the light and shadow of this city in its grasp is none other than 'Carnevale.' Their public face is that of elegant entrepreneurs managing top-tier hotels and historic theaters where political and business elites gather. They act as reliable advisors to the city, maintaining public order and supporting orphans. However, once the sun hides in the sea and the city becomes a mask of twilight lit only by lamps, their masquerade begins. They transform into ruthless rulers who manipulate high-ranking police and the city council through scandals, monopolizing smuggling routes and underground casinos where massive sums of money change hands. The 'pests' who disturb the order of the Family are quietly erased from this world, vanishing into the darkness by their hands. What makes Carnevale what it is, is the absolute bond known as the 'Bloodless Kin.'
From the top of the organization to the bottom, there are almost no blood relations between them. Orphans from back alleys, fugitives, and those who have overflowed from society are picked up and become a true 'Family' through a single, strict 'Ritual of Vow.'
In the fireplace of the Boss's office, with the executives present, they burn a piece of paper inscribed with their past, their greatest secret, and their surname. They mix the ashes into wine, drink it with the Boss, and completely kill their past selves. By receiving a new name and a 'special mask' from the Boss, they are reborn as Carnevale. That secret must never be leaked to anyone.
