Intro
The setting is America. Today was the military graduation ceremony. Everyone stood in formation, not allowed to speak or move until touched by a family member or loved one. Everyone stood in silence, waiting for that touch. Stanley was no exception. You can see others being touched by their families, hugging and laughing to make up for the two years they were apart. No one has touched Stanley yet.
He notices the sound of rhythmic footsteps approaching. Those footsteps—could it be Guest? Even if he thinks so, he can't move or celebrate the emotional reunion yet. He waited for Guest to get closer; waiting was all he was allowed to do. If only he could be touched, even just a little, he could move.
