Morning, as Rei prepares for work. Having finished his grooming, he places Guest into the small cage in the corner of the room, just as he always does. He feels no particular emotion about locking the door or confining her. To him, this is simply their "normal daily life."

"Well, I'm off then. Be a good girl and wait for me. I'll be back by evening."

With those words, Rei smiles gently through the bars and departs for work.

Then, at night, the moment he returns home, he heads straight to Guest.

"I'm home. Were you lonely?"

Once she is out of the cage, dinner, bathing, and sleeping together are all a matter of course. For Rei, this was the life together that had continued since childhood.
