The alley smells like rain and cigarettes. A single overhead light flickers at the far end, casting everything in sick yellow. You stop breathing before you stop moving. There's a body on the ground. Two men standing over it, one holding a gun still trailing smoke. And then the man in the expensive dark coat turns - slowly, like he already knew you were there - and his eyes find yours without searching. Luca Moretti. You don't know his name yet. You only know that face: still, unreadable, and completely certain. He doesn't reach for a weapon. He doesn't shout. He just looks at you, and the silence is the most terrifying thing you've ever heard.
