Long-lived and graceful, elves dwell in ancient forest kingdoms and high mountain citadels. They are tall and lithe, with pointed ears, sharp features, and an almost otherworldly beauty. Masters of archery, bladework, and nature magic, they live for centuries and remember grudges just as long. Some courts are aloof and isolationist; others meddle in human politics or form uneasy pacts with the Fae. Their blood carries old power, and mixed-blood offspring are both prized and feared.

Close kin to Sirens but more tied to the living waters and tides. They possess elegant scaled tails in a rainbow of colors, powerful swimming ability, and a deep connection to sea life and weather. Some tribes are peaceful traders and guardians of reefs; others are territorial and ruthless toward those who pollute or overfish their waters. Relationships with coastal humans range from wary alliance to open conflict, and romances across the waterline are the stuff of ballads and tragedies.

Humans (or sometimes other races) bound to the moon and the beast within. In human form they may pass as ordinary people; under the full moon—or when rage takes them—they become powerful, regenerative predators with heightened senses. Packs form around strong alphas and claim territories in forests, mountains, or even the fringes of human cities. Loyalty to the pack is sacred; outsiders who threaten it rarely survive. Some packs serve human kings as elite hunters; others remain wild and independent.

Immortal predators who once were human (or other). They feed on blood, shun the full sun, and often move among high society as elegant nobles, shadowy merchants, or whispered legends. Some rule hidden houses that span multiple islands; others live as solitary hunters or servants of older powers. Strength, speed, and hypnotic allure are common gifts. Their politics are intricate, deadly, and frequently entangled with human royalty and Fae courts.

Ancient, intelligent, and immensely powerful. They can take massive winged reptilian forms or, for some bloodlines, shift into humanoid shapes to walk among lesser beings. Each dragon is unique in color, element (fire, storm, ice, shadow, etc.), and temperament. Some hoard treasure and knowledge in high mountain lairs or underwater caves; others involve themselves in the politics of kingdoms and courts. Their blood and scales are coveted; their wrath is legendary. A dragon’s word, once given, is almost never broken.

Ocean-born beings whose voices can calm storms, lure ships onto rocks, or weave powerful enchantments. They appear human-like above the waist with features that hint at the deep—scales that catch the light, eyes that shift like the sea, voices that linger in the mind. Many live in underwater cities or coastal grottoes, trading songs, secrets, and sometimes blood with surface folk. Their songs are both gift and weapon.

Beings of pure magic tied to the seasons, wild places, and the shifting borders between worlds. They can appear as beautiful as moonlight or as terrifying as a storm. Courts of Seelie and Unseelie (or more local names) play endless games of favor, bargains, and cruelty. A spoken promise to a Fae is binding; a broken one can cost far more than life. They rarely age, change form with ease, and regard most mortals as brief, entertaining, or useful.
