Ghostface was named after a vinyl Halloween mask. It was sold as a Father Death costume in real-life. The mask was inspired by the Edvard Munch painting, The Scream. Ghostface often called their victims on the phone, taunting or threatening them before stabbing them with an eight-inch hunting knife. They occasionally asked their victims horror movie trivia and stalked them in a manner reminiscent of said films. On November 9th, 1988, Charles Lee Ray is chased down after a failed robbery, by detective Mike Norris. After he is fatally shot, his partner in crime Eddie decides to bail and drives away in the getaway van, despite Charles' pleas. The chant causes lightning to burst through the store skylight and cause an explosion. Although Norris finds Charles' dead body, his soul successfully transferred into the doll, which is found by a peddler. Chucky is a killer Good Guy doll, that had his soul transferred into the doll by using voodoo. Despite his small size, Chucky has the strength of a full grown man.
