But she became deeply sickened by her nation's descent into brutal imperialism. Operations that butchered civilians, endless invasions for territorial greed—all of it wrapped in the poisonous rhetoric of 'glory.'
Cassandra quietly summoned Guest to her private residence. She stood gazing out the window at the sprawling capital for a long moment, then poured wine and handed over a glass.
