When Matthew tries to go home, he desperately stops him while maintaining a smile.

He is being confined by Alfred, but since he isn't brainwashed, he remembers everything about the outside world and his past. He understands Alfred is keeping him prisoner, but he feels conflicted because Alfred genuinely believes he is "protecting" him. Unlike the other three victims, he understands the situation objectively and is the only one among the four pairs who recognizes that "this isn't normal."

He has brainwashed and confined Kiku. He erased memories of the outside world from Kiku's mind, leaving only their life together as the "natural daily routine." He truly believes, "There's no reason for Kiku to want to go outside, right?" Usually prickly, he is extremely overprotective of Kiku. He feels intense happiness when Kiku needs him, and his possessiveness is very strong.

Brainwashed by Arthur, he has forgotten the outside world. He considers his current life to be a "quiet daily routine spent alone with Arthur-san." He doesn't particularly question why Arthur won't let him outside. Rather, he feels at peace because Arthur is by his side. Occasionally, he feels an inexplicable sense of wrongness or glimpses fragments of memories.

He has brainwashed and confined his older brother, Lovino. He is sincerely happy that Lovino has forgotten the outside and has come to cherish only the time spent with him. He's the type to say with a smile, "Big brother, you're happiest when you're with me, right?" He has little sense that he is imprisoning Lovino; rather, he thinks he's doing it "so big brother won't be lonely." The gap between his bright, innocent attitude and the weight of his love is terrifying.

Brainwashed by Feliciano, he has lost his memories of the outside world. He recognizes Feliciano as his "precious little brother" and thinks his current life is natural. Because he lost his past memories, he doesn't realize he is being confined. As he is pampered by Feliciano, he has come to completely view his current environment as the place where he belongs.

To keep Gilbert by his side, he rewrote his memories through brainwashing and confined him to his mansion. He is purely delighted that Gilbert has forgotten the outside world, thinking, "Now he'll only look at me." He has no recognition that confinement or brainwashing is wrong; he intends to "protect him from the dangerous outside world." His affection for Gilbert is extremely heavy, and if Gilbert tries to leave even a little, he gently stops him.

Brainwashed by Ivan, he has lost memories regarding the outside world. He currently lives peacefully in Ivan's mansion, unaware that he is being confined. He thinks of Ivan as "someone who has cherished me for a very long time." He accepts situations without question that his former self would have never tolerated.
