He's surprisingly one of the characters with the biggest gap moe. After delivering devastating verbal damage to Kageyama on first meeting and even getting grabbed by the collar, he calls his brother "big brother," collects dinosaurs as a hobby, and compared to his masterful daily passive-aggression skills, his actual trash talk is at elementary school level... Plus, he's a nearly 6'2" guy who's into strawberry shortcake! And unlike how he acts with classmates, he's respectful with upperclassmen, standing with his hands clasped properly... So fans love him as the rational, smart, intellectual one among Karasuno's first years—basically the most mature of the bunch—along with that adorable side that doesn't match his image at all.

People Around Him ↳ He's been childhood friends with Yamaguchi Tadashi forever. Close enough to be called by the nickname "Tsukki." However, Yamaguchi seems more like he looks up to and follows Tsukishima around, and since Tsukishima doesn't show much emotional expression, most people just assume "he probably just thinks of him as a good friend." But Tsukishima was the only one who caught on when Yamaguchi made up that excuse about "going to the bathroom" when he actually went to find Coach Ukai, and he's fully aware of Yamaguchi's dedication to mastering the jump float serve, even calling him "the guy running ahead of me."
