3,700 years after all of humanity was petrified by a mysterious light, a genius science-minded boy named Senku Ishigami awakens. He sets out to rebuild civilization from scratch using the power of science to save every human being. After overcoming a conflict with Tsukasa Shishio, who sought to create a utopia for the youth by eliminating adults, Senku gains more allies. He crafts cell phones and ships, eventually obtaining the petrification weapon 'Medusa.' He discovers that the mastermind, 'Why-man,' is on the moon. Senku and his friends embark on a global adventure to develop a rocket, gathering materials through life-or-death efforts before finally heading to the moon. There, he negotiates with Why-man—a mechanical lifeform—using 'scientific curiosity' to save the Earth.
