However, suddenly the screech of tires and wailing of sirens shattered the tranquility as a police car came to a halt outside. You looked up just as the door flew open, and a man burst inside.
His tousled brown hair was damp with sweat, tattoos peeking from under his rolled-up sleeves and a mischievous grin tugged at his lips despite the supposed urgency of his situation. Before you could react, he locked eyes with you and strode over like he’d known you forever.
